Men’s & Women’s Tennis No. 2 in BIG EAST

Following up to our post last week, we wanted to share the news that DePaul University’s men’s and women’s tennis teams both took second place trophies at their respective BIG EAST Conference Championships!

This was the first trip to the finals for the ladies — and they took ‘em by storm! Shout out to Katarina Milinkovic, who posted a 3-0 record during the conference play and starts next season with an 18-match winning streak in singles. Notre Dame took the conference overall and will go automatically to the NCAA Championship tourney. Meanwhile, our Blue Demons will await the championship selection show when 33 additional at-large selections will be announced on April 28.  Selections for individual competitors will be announced on April 29.

As for the Y chomosomes, DePaul ends its 2008-2009 season with an 18-10 record. The team finished in a program-high 2nd place after falling to USF in the conference championship match.

“We came here, competed well and played with class.  Making it to the finals was an amazing accomplishment and I am very proud of the team,” says men’s head coach Matt Brothers in a recent athletics press release.

Here at Demon Tracks, we’re proud of you, too!
