Alumni In The News: Zeophus J. Williams, COM ’80

Chicago Daily Law Bulletin has a feature on School of Commerce Alumna Zeophus “Z” Williams, newly elected president of the Cook County Bar Association. Here’s an excerpt, to read the entire article, you’ll have to subscribe.

Zeophus J. “Z.” Williams plans to help Cook County Bar Association members develop their law practices and try to address the problem of at-risk youths in Chicago as the new head of the association.

Williams, a deputy supervisor of the Child Support Enforcement Division in the Cook County state’s attorney’s office, said she has long been involved in issues related to children. Williams is the first prosecutor to serve as the association’s president.

Chief Cook County Judge Timothy C. Evans administered the oath of office to Williams Thursday night at the association’s 94th Annual Installation and Awards Dinner.

The theme of Williams’ year as president is “Rising to New Heights and Focusing on Our Youth: Education & the Juvenile Justice System.”
