Alumni in the News – Hon. Annette A. Eckert (JD ’76)

Yet another DePaul Law Alum was recently profiled by the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin. Judge, advocate and mentor, Hon. Annette Eckert has devoted her career to service.

From the article:

Although well known in St. Clair County (IL), Eckert started out as a lawyer in Chicago. After she graduated from DePaul University College of Law, she became an assistant in the Cook County public defender’s office in 1976.

She proudly remembers working while a law student as an extern and law clerk for Circuit Judge Richard J. Fitzgerald in Cook County Criminal Courts, of which he now is the presiding judge.

“I can’t tell you how much I learned from him and watching him,” Eckert related. “He was a great mentor…. He just made me realize whatever I did, I should take pride in it.
