A DePaul YouTube moment

5 Feb

Since it’s been awhile, thought I’d drop by with some YouTube goodness to share.

Here’s a short documentary about last year’s CDM Game Jam, where teams of students (“crazy … hardcore gamers” as lovingly described by CDM Game Designer in Residence Eugene Jarvis) developed playable video games during a 30 hour marathon stretch. Check it out, it’s kind of inspirational:

Check back in a couple of days of for a recap of the 2009 Global Game Jam, which was held at CDM last week.

Hi – found this post via the “global game jam” tag from my blog. 🙂

Awesome youtube clip – Wow, how cool would it be to make a game, then hand the controller to Eugene Jarvis… to try it out! Amazing.

Liked the look of the UFO game at 5.40 btw.

I’m in Newcastle, Australia – sadly a 5 hr plane trip from the only Aussie jam event (in Perth).

But I was able to interview the organiser, and source interesting stories, photos & screenshots.

Hope the ’09 event went well at PedPaul too. 🙂

haha that video is hilarious ive never seen it!
Did anyone hear of that essay contest going around about some of the Big East schools?
You have to create some sort of argument about whats so great about your school…and the best one from each of the 16 Big East schools will be announced on the College Hoops page on http://msg.com/collegehoops/
and read on-air during MSG Network’s “College Basketball Weekly.”

you have to send it to: collegehoops@thegarden.com
with your school name in the subject, full name and school name. and you can submit photos and videos! i’m definitely gonna write somethin about good old demons!
