No, our students aren’t aliens, but they are creating some out-of-this-world film scoring and sound design.

Watch an excerpt of the 1956 film “Earth Versus the Flying Saucers” with the score performed and recorded by students in DePaul’s Sound Recording Technology program. As a bonus, check out the groundbreaking (for 1956!) flying saucer effects and destruction of Washington, D.C.

Looking for something more modern? Take a peek at students’ take on “Transformers” and “300” — the students replaced the dialogue, wrote and recorded a score, and designed the sound effects.

Who knows, you might soon be watching a movie featuring the work of DePaul alumni!
