The wait and wondering is over… DePaul University has named Oliver Purnell as the newest Blue Demons men’s basketball head coach.

Purnell spent the past seven season with the Clemson University Tigers — leading them to six straight postseason appearances. According to a DePaul Athletics press release, “[Purnell’s] .694 (93-41) winning percentage over the last four seasons is ranked third in the ACC.”

DePaul fans, supporters and sports enthusiasts of all types are invited to the press conference to be held this afternoon, April 6, at 1:30 p.m. (CT) at Cortelyou Commons on the Lincoln Park campus (2324 N. Fremont Street).

In an ESPN.com article, Purnell is quoted as saying, “It’s a super job… They are very, very committed to restoring a tradition and making DePaul Chicago’s team.”

Can’t wait to see what Purnell brings to the court!
