Reunion Weekend 2012 Recap: Reuniting and Reminiscing

18 Oct

Thanks to great participation from the DePaul community, Reunion Weekend 2012 was a success! More than 600 alumni and friends enjoyed coming back to campus and to Chicago for a three-day celebration Oct. 12-14.

Check out some highlights from the weekend:

  • On Oct. 12, graduates from the Class of 1962 and earlier were inducted into DePaul University’s Fifty Year Club. Alumni gathered at the Lincoln Park Student Center to enjoy the luncheon and reminisce about their days at DePaul.
  • Later on Friday, recent graduates enjoyed cocktails and conversation at Moe’s Cantina in downtown Chicago.
  • This year’s Reunion Celebration took place on Oct. 13 at the Palmer House Hilton. Alumni heard remarks from the Rev. Dennis H. Holtschneider, president of DePaul, and then mixed and mingled with graduates from their class years. Along with graduates celebrating a reunion year anniversary, alumni who were Resident Advisors and who worked as Campus Recreation student employees each had their own cocktail receptions.
  • For Oct. 14, alumni and friends on campus could attend the Reunion & Family Weekend Mass and the family friendly Reunion Weekend Brunch. Attendees were entertained by the vocal stylings of a student-run men’s a capella group, DMaC.

All alumni can relive Reunion Weekend, even if they couldn’t make it back to campus. To see pictures from throughout the weekend, visit our DePaul Spirit Flickr page and look for albums for each event.

In addition to Reunion Weekend, the Office of Alumni Relations puts on many alumni events throughout the year.
